S Pass
Eligibility
Mid-level skilled foreigners (e.g. technicians) who wish to work in Singapore may apply for an S Pass. Applicants will be assessed on a points system, taking into account multiple criteria. S Pass applicants accumulate points based on how far they meet the criteria. As a general guide, these criteria can be broadly described as (for illustrative purposes only):
- A minimum fixed salary of $1,800
- Educational qualifications
- A degree, or a diploma
- Technical certificates can be considered. These are, very broadly, courses that train the applicant to be a qualified technician or specialist in their chosen field. The certification should comprise of at least one year of full-time study.
- Type of job (e.g. professional, specialist or technician)
- Number of years of relevant work experience
Permanent Residence Eligibility : S pass holders are eligible to apply for PR status, however they may have to wait 4-5 years and have a stable job history in Singapore.
Passes for Family Members for S pass holders
S Pass applicants whose fixed monthly salary is more than $2,500 a month may apply for the Dependant's Pass (DP) for their family members. The DP application and supporting documents may be submitted together with the S Pass application or separately.
S Pass holders who earn less than $2,500 per month are not allowed to bring in their dependants, i.e. spouse, children and other family members.
However, if the children of such S Pass holders wish to study in mainstream public schools in Singapore, they will have to pass a Qualifying Test (QT) or the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS).
Employment Pass
The Employment Pass allows foreign professionals to work in Singapore. It applies to foreigners who earn a fixed monthly salary of more than $2,500, and have recognized qualifications. Employers must make applications for Employment Passes on behalf of a job candidate. Any change of employer will require a new application

Passes for Family Members of E- pass holder
Employment Pass applicants may apply for the Dependant's Pass (DP) and/or Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for their family members. The DP/LTVP application and supporting documents may be submitted together with the Employment Pass application or separately.
Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate - EPEC
Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) allows foreigners to stay in Singapore for up to one year to facilitate their job search in Singapore. Successful EPEC applicants are required to apply for a one-year Visit Pass from the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) to allow them to stay in Singapore.
Eligibility
Foreigners who wish to apply for an Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate must fulfill one of these requirements:
- Possess selected university qualifications
- Be a current or former holder of selected skilled migrant visas
Training Employment Pass
Eligibility
These foreigners may be eligible for the Training Employment Pass:
Undergraduates
The training attachment in Singapore must be part of the undergraduate's degree programme from an acceptable educational institution.
1. Trainees from foreign offices or subsidiaries
2. Intra-company trainees should hold a degree or diploma.
To qualify for the Training Employment Pass, the applicant should:
1. Earn a fixed monthly salary of more than $2,500; and/or
2. Hold recognized tertiary/professional qualifications.
